Gita  Stage 9,8.  Abandonment of desires in thoughts and world after abandonment.:  -

  Vaasanaah-eva-sansaarah-iti-sarvaah-vimunch-taah:  the tattayaagah-vaasnaa-tattayaagat-istthiti-uddya-yathaatathaa/9,8/.

Vaasanaah = desires in thoughts, eva = surely, sansaarah = world, eti = thus, sarvaah = all, vimunch = abandon, taa = those, tattayaagah = abandonment of those, vaasnaa = express or formal desires in the thoughts, tattayaagat= the abandonment of world, istthiti = rest, uddya = now or after, yathaatathaa = wherever it can be.

Translation:  The desires in the thoughts are surely a world.  Thus abandonment of all those desires in the thoughts is abandonment of this world. After express or formal abandonment of desires in the thoughts, rest in world, wherever it can be. /9,8/.

Interior mental thoughtson:  Guru Astavakra indicates that the express or formal desires in the thoughts create the affection in the normal person with the perceived world and with its objects and encourages him to develop the knowledge of thought, to think and see with bodies of the actions like reality.  This subjects the normal person to  express or formal desires in the thoughts and tastes its fruits in the world. After abandonment of desires, the normal person become free from  express or formal desires in the thoughts and the reality supposed of all in world disappears and he become also free of its fruits.

Really the person after abandonment of express or formal desires in the thoughts ,is completely released from all the affections in the world. After abandonment desires , he can live anywhere resting in the body life according to the impulsive karma because .He is not affected by circumstances of the desires in the brain.  Only the desires are the world and its objects.  The abandonment of the desires is the abandonment of the world and its objects.  The express or formal desires in the thoughts create the individual aspect of life and the body life.  The abandonment of the desires in the thoughts creates the absolute aspect of the life that live in the tranquility of the complete state of dissolution of thoughts with interior knowledge in all the situations.

World after abandonment of desires is  like the lamp of a spiritual light, where the darkness disappears itself.  One that abandon the desires completely, also dissolve the thoughts.  Abandonment  does not imply apparent divesting of social attachment with the world  etc., but abandonment of desires in thoughts, affection and attachment. There is no need to resign your job, only abandon your desires in thought. One who abandon desires actually merges in the world and expands his love to the whole world. After abandonment of desires in the thoughts , the expansion of love rests in thoughts itself.

Abandonment  of desires in thoughts is always in the mind, not in going to forests or solitary places or giving up one’s duties. The main thing is to see that the thoughts of  mind does not turn outward  world but inward world. Abandonment  of desires in thoughts means, let thoughts do happen all activities according to destiny.
: The rejection of the works with desire is known by the learned as abandonment of desires and world in thoughts. The abandonment of the fruit of all work, the discerning call abandonment. Some wise men say that work (itself) should be abandoned as evil; others say that the works of sacrifice, gifts, and penance, should not be abandoned.

Some says spiritual scriptures that the works of sacrifice, gifts and penance should not be abandoned. They should indeed, be done. Sacrifice, gift and penance help the the purifications of the thoughts.. But even those works should be done with abandonment  of desires in thoughts for attachment and fruit. . The abandonment of an act prescribed is not proper. Its abandonment is from delusion and is therefore declared to be of the quality of darkness . Guru Astavakra says that the desires in the thoughts are surely a world.  Thus abandonment of all those desires in the thoughts is abandonment of this world.  After abandonment of desires in the thoughts, one can rest in tranquility, wherever it can be.
