mind of whom, kurat=
how, parsham = calmness in
conscious mind, peeyush= nector, dhaaraa= flow of,
saaram=enjoyed, sartae
= without, sukham= happiness. Translation: Duties in form of sorrows
is lava, which is scorching the conscious mind. How, without flow of
nectar of calmness in conscious mind, happiness can be enjoyed? /18.3/. Central
Communication: Guru Astavakra tells disciple Janaka that conscious mind
has been scorched by the lava of sorrows carried from past lives, which
are arising in form of sense of duty. Without the torrential shower of
calmness in conscious mind by profound meditation, happiness cannot be
enjoyed. Guru
says that sense of duty as normal person performs is nothing but slavery
in form of virtues karmas. Sense of duty, state of calmness and happiness
are most misunderstood, not by normal people but by most of the yoga
disciples. True happiness cannot be acquired in inner conscious mind while
having sense of duty for self, society and religion in outer unaware mind.
Sense of duty and true happiness cannot exist together in mind. With the
attainment of one the other is lost. Most of the normal people and yoga
disciple who are feeling happiness is in fact in state of freedom from
unhappiness or misery in unaware mind. True happiness that is also called
bliss is felt and realized by stilling thoughts of sense of duty and human
intellect in conscious mind by profound meditation. Only
reposing inner self in conscious mind can realize true eternal happiness.
True happiness can be realized by stilling thoughts of sense of duty in
conscious mind by profound meditation. The happiness felt with senses by
normal people is mere state of freedom from misery or state of escaping
unhappiness. The
true yoga disciple realizes that all kinds of sense duty including for
virtuous acts or meditation acts contain desires that sow seeds of future
life subliminal karma impressions. Sense duty is like the inner explosive
nature of lava in mind that parches the mind in to cycle of misery and
non-misery. He also realizes this can be converted into happiness [bliss]
with the showers of torrential rain of tranquility of inner self by
reposing inner self in conscious mind. Guru
Astavakra tells disciple Janaka that sense of duty is nothing but slavery
in form of virtues. One, who has sense of objects of world as real, finds
he has things to do, duties to fulfill. This sense of duty has ultimately
aroused from lack of spiritual knowledge flowing in outer intellect mind
called unaware mind. Thus sense of duty binds person to the relative life
and subjecting person to all the miseries of the matter world. This
parches the inner explosive nature of lava of mind surrounding the inner
spiritual knowledge of inner self. When the sense of duty subsides, the
conscious mind becomes desires less for objects resulting relative life
also loses its grip. Person feels that the world is transient and one has
nothing to do in it or with it. Then, comes state of tranquility,
serenity, quietness and calmness that is real happiness. This happiness is
like divinity rain showers to revive the spiritual knowledge of burnt
heart of conscious mind.
Surely
sense of duty enjoyments that work under lack of spiritual knowledge
parches the inner explosive nature of lava of mind in to misery and the
showers of torrential rain of tranquility, serenity and calmness of inner
self in conscious mind strengthens glow of spiritual knowledge in mind.
