When non-harassment by the pairs of opposites is felt by the disciple, the disciple derive benefits and become perfect in third step of meditation practice that is yoga posture and automatically enters in fourth step of yoga called Pranayama. In fourth yogic stage of discipline is itself slow down of movement of inhalation and out breathing that result slow down of breathing to minimum requirement. It is when distress has been eliminated followed by immunity from the onslaughts of the pairs of inseparable opposites like pain and pleasure, heat and cold, success and failure, honor and dishonor ,that regulation of breathing and proper inhalation and out breathing get followed itself consciously. The flow of inhalation and out breathing and the flow of positive life promoting energy and the negative decay promoting energy constitute the regulation of the life force. This stage is experienced in the totality of all its functional aspects. The attainment of the regulation of the breathing and its regulation, creates a gap in the slow down of breathing. This is called Pranayama yoga or breathing regulation, which is the fourth limb of yogic discipline. On the attainment of the right
posture, stopping the flow of inhalation and out breathing itself is called
the yogic limb of breathing regulation or Pranayama yoga. How to do The fruits of the cultivation of the yogic discipline of posture lead to the attainment of the practice of breathing regulation called Pranayama yoga. It is as a result of the cultivation of the yogic discipline of posture that the inhalation and out breathing of breathing get stopped that is Pranayama yoga. The Great Guru calls this stopping of the breathing regulation. As such, the cultivation, disciplining and perfection of the discipline of posture are extremely necessary before the cultivation, disciplining and perfection of the breathing regulation. Or one can say like this that it is with the cultivation, disciplining and perfection of breathing regulation that the discipline of posture gets automatically cultivated, disciplined and perfected. Forcibly stopping the flow of breathing and stopping without the practice of right posture or its automatic stopping due to some physical and mental ailment does not constitute the yogic limb of breathing control or breathing regulation or Pranayama yoga. The yogic limb of breathing regulation is also a non-preparatory yogic discipline, which gets attained with the cultivation, disciplining and perfection of the yogic discipline of posture. The cultivation of the yogic limb of breathing regulation has direct connection with the cultivation of the yogic discipline of posture. It is on the attainment of one that the other automatically gets attained. The According to its needs the cosmic life force or energy makes a change in the form of the conscious mind, in the form of the body and in the form of the exterior living and non-living beings. It, however, never gets destroyed. The cosmic energy which immersed in every living and non-living particle, remains in a state of motion in the form of a triangle comprising of electron, proton and neutron. It is electricity. During the life of innumerable living beings, the cosmic life force or energy of the living and non-living particles is in the nature of an asset and an income. The cosmic energy in the subtle nature in the form of Pranayama yoga is derived from the individual self-conscious of soul. The more the living being is enmeshed in the gross internal subjects and objects, the more he gets prone to affection and enmity. As a result, he draws more upon his life force, which is his breathing, and in turn he draws more upon the breathing attribute and the passionate attribute. As such, when a living being gets entangled in the bonds of affection and enmity and craving and gets engrossed in the gross external subjects and objects, he starts inhaling and exhaling with greater speed. The intensity of his inhalation and out breathing is proportionate to his affection and enmity and his entanglement in the exterior world of duality. A person in such a state gets diseased as he starts drawing upon his life force and the cosmic forces and powers more than is good for his health. It is because of his entanglement and his affection and enmity with the subjects and objects of the exterior world that he starts inhaling and exhaling at a far greater speed than his normal. When a human being’s body and mind are disease free and also free from the cravings of thoughts, he draws less upon his life force and less upon his passionate attribute. It is then that the speed of his inhalation and out breathing called Pranayama yoga gets reduced. The lesser the affection and enmity, the lesser are his entanglements in the gross external subjects and objects, the lesser will be human being’s speed of inhalation and out breathing called Pranayama yoga. It is then that his body and mind get into a disease free state. When the body is comfortable and steady through the cultivation of the discipline of posture, the yogi does not feel the need of supplying the cosmic breathing energy to his body. As such, the flow of inhalation and out breathing in his body remains very little and in a rudimentary form. A time comes when the flow of life force stops altogether in the body of the disciple it self. When after the cultivation of the yogic discipline of posture, a yogi is able to restrain and nullify the thoughts of his mind; he reaches approximately the state, which resembles the world of the Dead in conscious mind. He gets into a state of the individual’s dying and taking on another life in conscious mind through Pranayama. He reaches the state when he experiences the death of his own body and his reincarnation in another body through Pranayama consciously. The Great Guru says that the speed of inhalation and out breathing called Pranayama yoga does not mean merely inhalation of oxygen into the body and out breathing of carbon dioxide from it. The process of inhalation and out breathing is meant to purify the external gross body. It also entails the functioning of the nature’s characteristics and qualities and cosmic laws. In the original form, the inhaled and exhaled breathing pulls out the cosmic energy from the subtle nature of conscious mind and gives it to the subtle and gross elements of senses of perception, organs of action and body limbs. The cosmic life force or energy, which is in a state of motion in the innumerable living and non-living beings, is then thrown back into the subtle nature. The cosmic life force or energy does not get destroyed. It only changes its shape. Its object also does not get destroyed. Its attribute undergoes a change. The great Sage says that more the individual’s body and mind are empty of cosmic energy the more is the individual non-attentive and weak and full of thoughts of distress. The more is the individual’s body and mind is full of cosmic energy, the more will his body and mind is disease free. It is then that this mind and body will be from the impurities and cravings of thoughts. Thereafter, his concentration of organs of action and senses of perception will get awakened. This concentration gets awakened from the seven layers of the lack of spiritual knowledge of the body and the mind. It is the awakened concentration that is capable of going beyond the layers of lack of spiritual knowledge. Before restraining and nullifying the thoughts of mind, these very thoughts have to be freed and purged of the impurities of cravings. Prior to this, the mind and the body are to be filled with the cosmic life force or energy. For filling the body and the mind with the cosmic life force or energy, the disciple has to make his body posture steady. For the cultivation of the limb of body posture, the discipline of the limb of religious observance namely contentment, self- discipline, meditation and surrender to the lord has to be cultivated. A firm resolve has to be taken to practice the cultivation of these disciplines. Prior to this, the five virtues of the discipline of self-discipline namely harmlessness, honesty, self-restraint from misappropriation, energy of procreation and freedom from greediness are to be cultivated, disciplined and perfected. The discipline of yoga as detailed by the Great Guru and which deals with the self-discipline and nullification of thoughts requires treading on a long and arduous path. The path is full of the Nature’s unique forces and powers. The path requires the cultivation, disciplining and perfection of the virtues of self-discipline and of the discipline of observance of culture. Misuse of these unique powers of nature or their use for amassing wealth, progeny, status, necromancy or for slow down of cravings for subjects and objects and possessions or for harboring thoughts for these things, makes it difficult for the disciple to continue his practice of yoga. Incase these unique powers are misused by him, the outcome will be pleasure wrapped in intense agony and pain. The misuse of these unique powers of nature will culminate in disaster and will prove a stumbling block in the practice of yoga. The powers obtained as a result of the cultivation of the discipline of self-discipline and observance of culture and which get produced in the practice of yoga, inflate the self-ego and ego of the disciple. These powers sow the sinful and evil seeds of action for his future innumerable incarnations. As such, it is by becoming liberated from the stranglehold of the powers of the discipline of self-discipline and observance of culture that concentration is to be descended into the depth of the mind. Thought of the misuse of these powers should not even be entertained in the mind.On line Free Complete!
