Music of Pranayama  :Transliteration of original Sanskrit Scripture :-

Bahya abhyantara stambha vrttih desa kala samkhyabhih paridrstah dirgha suhnmah. /50/. 

Bahya  = external, abhyantara = internal ,stambha =  paused , vrttih  = movements  , desa  = place , kala = time,  samkhyabhih = number of repetitions,  paridrstah  = deeply observed , dirgha  = large , suhnmah = subtle.

The external, internal and made movements a pause of music of Pranayama are deeply observed for the large form and into subtle, according to the place and the period and the number of repetitions of music of Pranayama../50/.

As the movement patterns of each breathing - inhalation, exhalation, lull - are observed as to place of focus ,duration of time, number of repetitions of breathing, music of Pranayama  becomes large and subtle. Through deeply observing  the rapidity, the place or location  and the duration or length  of the inhalation  and exhalation of the breathing operations  in relationship to its still points  and/or its/movements  the force  of music of Pranayama is extenuated and becomes more increased and subtle .

That through observing the inward and outward characteristics of the breathing process and its operations of stillness  in regard to duration , location , and the number of repetitions , as to its degree of subtleness  and extenuated fineness while the breathing spins internally, externally, or comes into stillness Pranayama is practiced. Music of Pranayama is referring to the operation of three types of breathing: inhalation , exhalation  and retention of breathing.  A point that experienced practitioners all know, but here beginners may save some time and avoid confusion, is that the techniques of  music of Pranayama exist not as an end in itself to master, but as tools to explore the operations of the breathing and prana -- to harmonize and make more subtle the prana  so that it is allowed to move into the central column  naturally. As such when the prana stop flowing in , then it is automatically and naturally drawn up into the subtle. Thus the techniques  reveal the subtle actions of prana to our consciousness so that we can merge, re-connect, or reintegrate with our unconditioned natural true self .

Music of Pranayama has three kinds of movement controls that are prolonged subtle inhalation ,retention of exhalation, regulation of inhalation and exhalation according to regulation of time and place requirement .Right music of Pranayama may be an external and internal or motionless function which may vary depending upon place of, prolonged time and repeated number of practice. Different yogic techniques are used for holding the breathing within the body after inhalation. Similarly, different yogic techniques are used for holding the breathing outside the body after exhalation. And this technique may vary from individual to individual depending upon time and place of yogic practice of Music of Pranayama.

In a like manner, different techniques are used for the suspension of breathing with conscious effort. Different techniques are also used which involve the practicing of the yogic discipline of breathing regulation. Some of them advocate prolonged breathing regulation while others advocate short breathing regulation. All the techniques  of music of Pranayama are subject to place, time and numbers in respect of their practice. The regulation of breathing is an external and an internal virtue. It is also a stationary or motionless virtue. Breathing can be regulated through place, time and numbers. It can either be shortened or lengthened. Its retention can also be increased or decreased. Breathing regulation has three speeds namely the outgoing, the incoming and the retention speed. Being subject to place, time and numbers, which are experienced differently in all human beings and in their practice of yoga, breathing can be made long or subtle or short. Breathing regulation is composed of inhalation and exhalation as well as retention. Observing the breathing through  music of Pranayama its difference in different people, in different places, and for different length of time is also experienced. The length of breathing and its subtle or protracted or brief proportion can be increased or decreased through the practice of yoga.

The regulations of music of Pranayama force says that cosmic force of breathing regulation is of three types. The first type of cosmic force enters the exterior world through the organs of action. The second type of cosmic force enters the subconscious mind through the senses of perception. The third type of cosmic force is motionless or stationary. It is in this motionless state that the flow of cosmic force comes to a standstill at a place where it happens to be at a particular time. The conscious mind regulates the cosmic life force according to its needs at different places and in different proportions and for different timings and to different kinds of living bodies. The flow of cosmic breathing force or Pranayama force can be lengthened or shortened or made subtle through conscious practice and effort.

 By lengthening or shortening the breathing, the proportion of the breathing awakened cosmic force or life force can be made to stop in the heart of the yogi. The greater the proportion of the cosmic breathing force  or life force of the yogi, the greater will his conscious mind  awakened. The greater the conscious mind is awakened, the more it will become capable of going beyond the lack of spiritual knowledge of the subtle nature. Once it goes beyond the lack of spiritual knowledge of  the cosmic breathing force , life force will descend into the depth of the conscious mind. The conscious self-discipline or nullification of the subtle and very subtle thoughts of the mind takes place only in the depth of the conscious mind. The practice of yoga necessitates that thoughts of the conscious mind are to be restrained and nullified.

The regulations of music of Pranayama force says that the yogi regulates the Nature’s characteristics and qualities in the interior core of conscious mind through the use of the life giving cosmic force or music of Pranayama . He regulates the amount of cosmic force required by his conscious mind in order to regulate his lingering past subliminal impressions. He also regulates the amount of cosmic force required by his conscious mind for the flow of thoughts. He further regulates the amount of cosmic breathing force required by his body to carry on and lead his life. The proportion or number of worldly powers required by the senses of knowledge for the undertaking of karma actions and for having connection with the creation’s subjects ands objects and with the embodied self-conscious of soul, is governed by cosmic force at different places and in different amounts and for different times. The cosmic force keeps on moving through the medium of inhalation and exhalation of music of Pranayama.

The mind of subtle nature  has to make all this arrangement for the development of and the day-to-day functioning of the human body for its destined life span. It has also to make arrangement through the cosmic force of music of Pranayama for the enjoyment of its destined lingering past subliminal impressions. The yogi, however, by consciously practicing breathing regulation can increase the proportion of the characteristics and qualities of the music of Pranayama  along with its speed and time. By making it subtle, the yogi can use the cosmic force for the practice of yoga. The yogic discipline of posture has to be cultivated for the cultivation of breathing control or regulation. . For the cultivation of the discipline of the observance of culture, the five virtues of the discipline of self-discipline have to be cultivated, disciplined and perfected. The five virtues of self-discipline entail remaining enmity free, having true thoughts, abstaining from false thoughts, and non-indulgence in stealing. The cultivation of force of procreation entails that cosmic force which gets discharged outside in the form and shape of lust is to be kept preserved inside the body. Nature’s subjects and objects are not to be amassed or hoarded. These subjects and objects are to be used for undertaking necessary karma actions and for the necessary enjoyment of lingering past subliminal impressions in a spirit of gratitude and thanks giving.

The regulations of music of Pranayama force says that the connection of the speed of inhalation and exhalation is with thoughts and meditations, which are the waves of the lingering past subliminal impressions of the interior conscious mind. It is also with the thoughts of the conscious mind that are full of cravings for subjects and objects. It is also with the senses of action, which are to be used for the meditation of lingering past subliminal impressions and for the fulfillment of cravings of thoughts. All these make the concentration of conscious mind enter the natural world .

 Where the meditation is, where the thoughts are, where the performance of action is, there lies the center of inhalation and exhalation of music of Pranayama. When the speed or proportion of meditation and thoughts and performance of karma actions gets reduced, the speed or proportion of inhalation and exhalation of music of Pranayama also gets reduced. By consciously making the mind and its thoughts and its performance of karma actions by the body comfortable and happily stable posture, the inhalation and exhalation of Pranayama automatically get stopped. Or one can say that by lengthening and shortening the speed of inhalation and exhalation of Pranayama which can be done through the practice of yoga, the thoughts of mind and their cravings and the performance of the karma actions by the body can be made comfortably steady. Making the thoughts of the mind firm and stilled, tantamount to their self-discipline and nullification.
