Original Yoga thesis in Sanskrit:-

Transliteration of original  Patanjali yoga thesis : -

Abhava pratyaya alambana vrttih nidra. /10/

Abhava  =   not existing , pratyaya = perception,  alambana = is under or resting on ,  vrttih = the movements of the thoughts  , nidra = dream-thoughts of the sleep.


Translation  of original yoga thesis: -
The perception which is not existing and is under the movements of the thoughts is the dream-thoughts of the sleep. /10/.
Insight vision on original yoga thesis10:-

Absence of ordinary thoughts means the dream-thoughts of the sleep . The dream-thoughts of the sleep  means scarcity of thoughts of the state of mind during sleep. The thoughts, which deals with this information, is called dream-thoughts of the sleep . The thoughts that provides knowledge about the absence of ordinary thoughts during sleep is dream-thoughts of the sleep . Deep dream-thoughts of the sleep  also stands for dreamless sleep. It is due to the preponderance of those attributes in the state of mind, which leads to the absence of ordinary thoughts during sleep. Thus, the thoughts that is experienced during sleep or the thoughts that is experienced about dreams is called dream-thoughts of the sleep . The thoughts of the state of mind, which are felt during dreams, constitute dream-thoughts of the sleep  of the state of mind. The thoughts about dreams, which arises during sleep and of which we become unaware on waking but feel having dreams about them is also, called dream-thoughts of the sleep . When a man is in a state of dream-thoughts of the sleep , his false thoughts of the wisdom of education , verbal thoughts of conceived idea  and thoughts of the memory of the hidden impression  becomes sleeping and his alertness of what is happening around him and of the material world becomes very scant. The knowledge about scarcity of this alertness is deep dream-thoughts of the sleep .

Deep dream-thoughts of the sleep  is temporary Samadhi (spiritual union of yoga), which is transcendental super-conscious state of mind. During this state the flow of thoughts keeps on floating unabated but the state of mind remains disconnected. Being thoughts free, the state of mind enters into the state of rest. Being in a state of rest, the state of mind does not grasp and take hold of the floating thoughts which keep on moving on its surface and whose flow keeps on going non-stop during deep sleep. The waves of the ocean keep on undulating on the surface of the ocean but the ocean is un-aware of them. Similar is the case of the state of mind and the thoughts passing over it during dream-thoughts of the sleep .

The state of mind is thoughts –free during deep sleep. It is also thoughts free during the transcendental super-conscious state that is spiritual union of Yoga. The only difference between deep dream-thoughts of the sleep  and the spiritual union of yoga state is that during deep dream-thoughts of the sleep  thoughts keep on floating but the state of mind remains unaware and unconscious of their flow. On the other hand, during state spiritual union of yoga, the state of mind is fully conscious and completely aware of the flow of single thoughts floating in it. Deep dream-thoughts of the sleep  is a form of spiritual union of yoga experience.

How is deep dream-thoughts of the sleep  a super-conscious or Samadhi or spiritual union of yoga experience? During deep sleep, the state of mind thoughts stops functions and the unconscious state of mind also becomes static. It enters into the state of rest. dream-thoughts of the sleep  arises when the state of mind is in a state of  unconsciousness. This dream-thoughts of the sleep  also comes to an end when the state of mind becomes  conscious . Spiritual union of yoga experience starts when the state of mind is in a state of consciousness . During deep dream-thoughts of the sleep , the state of mind becomes static. Event vision of God becomes meaningless to it.

This is because the state of mind is not awake to grasp and comprehend this knowledge. During dream-thoughts of the sleep , the  false thoughts of the wisdom of education , verbal thoughts of conceived idea  and thoughts of the memory of the hidden impression  keep on floating in the state of mind. They keep on appearing in the form of a dream. It is, however, possible to enter the spiritual union of yoga state by converting dream-thoughts of the sleep  into true thoughts. This can be done with the help of the imaginative power of thoughts. To achieve this, and disciple has had to a lot of practice and knowledge of meditation and yoga technique. This disciple has also to purify his body and state of mind before he undertakes the conversion of dream-thoughts of the sleep  into true thoughts. Improper handling of dream-thoughts of the sleep  and its misuse can lead to mental derangement. As such, gaining entry into the state of transcended super conscious experience from dream-thoughts of the sleep  is to be undertaken after making sure that both body and state of mind have been purified.  Patanjali gives details about this aspect in website page s 30 to 45 of 2nd book Meditation Practice of Patanjali Meditation of yoga.

Let the disciple try this experiment. Before going to sleep, say your prayers, recite God’s name as enjoyed by the religion of your choice and the religion practice, which your state of mind gladly accepts. Make your state of mind absolutely happy, peaceful and calm. Lie down. Try to sleep consciously and with full alertness. Lying down, keep alertness on the movement of thoughts passing through your state of mind. At the beginning you will find sleep disappearing. The thoughts passing through your state of mind will also become turbulent, making your state of mind rest-less. The duration of sleep will also decrease. Urge to go to sleep will be delayed. When this happens, you are not to worry yourself or become anxiety ridden. Have patience. Have grim determination. Try to go to sleep carefully, consciously and with full alertness and this practice is to be continued relentlessly. It should become a part of your daily life’s style. You should go to sleep with faith and concentration keeping yourself in a state of consciousness and state of consciousness.

Various thoughts are bound to pass over your state of mind. These thoughts may be related to your friends or foes and your attachments or your aversions. Besides this, a host of other thoughts are also likely to invade your state of mind. All of these thoughts emanate from the unconscious state of mind and are its products. What is meant is that you should neither harbor nor aversions towards anyone of these thoughts. You should keep your state of mind above the melody of all thoughts, which are trying to make your state of mind restless. You should try not to let any thoughts come near you .You are neither to entertain good nor bad thoughts. You are to try to make your state of mind thoughts free and bring it to a zero degree. Constant practice and non-attachment help in making the state of mind thoughts free.

The subject of thoughts is meaningless and it is just practice of meditation and yoga. Keeping this in state of mind, one has to practice meditation and yoga, going to sleep consciously, attentively and carefully. A month of such a meditation and yoga practice will lessen sleeplessness and insomnia. After sustained practice of some months, false thoughts of the wisdom of education , verbal thoughts of conceived idea  and thoughts of the memory of the hidden impression  will start getting consciously converted into true thoughts. This thoughts viz. false thoughts of the wisdom of education , verbal thoughts of conceived idea  and thoughts of the memory of the hidden impression  would get broken and their splintering will be felt. Dreams will gradually be felt as spiritual knowledge emanating thoughts. During the course of this practice of meditation and yoga, a day will come, when you will come face to face with true thoughts. Experience true thoughts, you would feel that while your body is asleep your state of mind is in dreams that have no logic. Gaining entry into this state of true thoughts of the wisdom of the experiment will lead to gaining entry into the super conscious state; which will recognize the distinction between dream thoughts and awaken thoughts.

Once a person consciously learns to practice this meditation and yoga technique, his dreams become the paths, which leads to true knowledge. In return, his deep sleep gets converted into a transcendental super conscious experience for the disciple. While remaining in this state of super consciousness, one learns the art of making the state of mind static and restful. Thereafter, one can attains the true knowledge of the world. Once a disciple gets the knowledge of this meditation and yoga technique, he will get a true knowledge of all the thoughts that crowd his state of mind during sleep. dream-thoughts of the sleep  is also a cosmic force. With the help of such a potent force, it is possible to enter the realm of God realization during one's lifetime.


  
Meditation and yoga Tip: - Select any one spiritual form like Parvati Shiva & remain above any blind worship or superstition attached to Parvati Shiva. Meditate on Parvati Shiva with devotion regularly and consciously. Here is offered an icon of spiritual form of Parvati Shiva as Beneficent Union of cosmic power. While fixing attention on spiritual form of Parvati Shiva, hear song about Parvati Shiva, recite about Parvati Shiva or remember  name of Parvati Shiva repeatedly and continue to feel Parvati Shiva for 15 minutes or so. It could work as short cut medicine to control and cure various kinds of bodily and mental strains and diseases such as sleeplessness, blood pressure, physical strains, mental worry and/ or mental fears. It also improves concentration and meditation cosmic power and makes state of mind refreshing.
 .Parvati stands in a relaxed pose united with Shiva, who holds his trident and drum and is considered in Hinduism, the symbols of creation. In this union,  Parvati Shiva is shown as fertility and  represents at the same time both the second to last creative energy . Shiva married twice, once the granddaughter of Brahma, named Sati and then Sati again when she was reborn as Parvati, the daughter of the King of the Himalayas, Daksha. He had two sons, Ganesa and Kartikeya. Shiva is also perceived as the cosmic dancer, Nataraja. The magnificent Nataraja who dances though life has won many a hearts and imaginations. Lord Ganesha is the elder progeny of Lord Shiva and his consort Parvati. According to some legends, Ganesha wasn't actually born to Shiva and Parvati but was created from the saffron paste gathered from Parvati's person.
