Original Yoga thesis in Sanskrit:-

Transliteration of original Yoga thesis : -
Anubhuta visaya asampramosah smrtih. /11/  

Anubhuta  =  which has been  experienced or known,  visaya = object or things,  asampramosah  = return  memory of old thought  , smrtih = the memory of old thought of the hidden impression.


Translation  of original yoga thesis: -
Memory thought are unmodified recollection of words and experiences. /11/

Insight vision on original yoga thesis 11a: - 

Whatever the saints’ and sages meditate to make their state of mind  thought free is to make state of mind  mental sorrow free and to feel calmness, serenity and tranquility. They do not amass wealth. They do not hanker after name and fame. They do not lead a domestic life. Hence they lead a comparatively distress free and happy life. The secret of their happiness is that they banish all thought about past and future and live and enjoy their present. The reason why most other people are not happy is not to be found in external causes nor is their unhappiness, Interior God essence-ordained. The reason of their unhappiness lies in themselves and in their lack of spiritual knowledge. Out of lack of spiritual knowledge human being seeks happiness from outer matter world, which is wrapped in sorrow. Engrossed in thought of the worldly enjoyment of pleasures, human being is assailed by thought of attachments and aversions, thought of fear, thought of sin and charity, thought of past actions, thought of heaven and hell, thought of his own self-sense, thought of fear of death and thought of the wrath of Interior God essence. All these thought daunt and haunt him. 

  Really most people do not accept the concept of lack of spiritual knowledge flow in their unconscious state of state of mind  is the cause of flowing sorrow or distress in their thought. Neither they want to become aware of this fact nor as such themselves are responsible for their own sorrows. They believe by habit that other human beings and extraneous elements and objects of nature and external circumstances are the causes of their distress. If none of these causes appears plausible to them, they blame their sufferings to divinity and call it the will of God. They are not prepared, under any circumstances to accept themselves as doers of their own sorrows and mental distress. This is the main cause of most of the human suffering. Really human being’s sense of ego that he is the doer is responsible for bringing misery upon oneself. Leaving other aspects out, human being puts his entire belief in this fallacies thinking.

 Really most people out of lack of spiritual knowledge and in a state of unconsciousness, think that on account of others or on account of extraneous circumstances or on account of will of some Godly form, they could not achieve what they wanted to and what they desired to achieve in their life. They are not prepared to accept the interior lack of spiritual knowledge of their state of mind  for entertaining such a false thought notion. They are not prepared to accept in thought their own responsibility for not achieving their desired goal. That is the worst hell of unhappiness and secret of human life.
 The real wisdom is that whatever you have not achieved in human life is due to the result of your karma actions. Human being’s thought and his thinking process provoke and bring him agony. Interior God essence does not impose the fruits and results of your karma actions on you. They are the dividend of your past lives. When a human being is able to have insight vision of his conscious state of state of mind , he is surprised to realize that he undertakes all vice and virtue actions that are propelled by desires of his interior deep conscious state of state of mind . The grief that he feels and experiences in his unconscious state of state of mind  and the grief provoking thought have no direct connection with the enjoyment of the fruits of his karma actions. The grief is the result of thought flow in upper layer of unconscious state of state of mind  whereas the karma action is being executed by interior conscious state of state of mind  in serenity and tranquility.

The other unknown truth to most of human being is that other living beings and objects are not capable of inflicting pain, causing hurt and injury. It is impossible for them to do so. They may cause physical discomfort, which is however, short-lived. But the turbulent thought, which create agony in the human state of mind  and which continue unabated throughout life, are unconsciously created by the state of mind  in the human being. Other living beings do not have such thought in their state of mind . If a human being can put a stop and halt the vagaries of his unconscious state of state of mind , the resultant agonizing thought will cease. They will disappear there and then, not withstanding their severe intensity. 

If a human being consciously perceives and comprehends the agony provoking thought of his state of mind  and the distress produced by them and is prepared to accept these thought and own them also, they can be erased from his state of mind . But human being, out of lack of spiritual knowledge and with his ego sense, thinks that he alone is the doer. He keeps on struggling against the agony-producing pattern of his thought. He keeps on waging a war against those thought, which tend to bring him distress.

 In this way he ruins his unique and superb human life by remaining engrossed in verbal thought, false thought and imaginative thought as related to the agony provoking thought. This is the misfortune of that human being who have blind faith and who are opaque to logic knowledge and reasoning information thought. It is the same misfortune that befalls well-known social figures and people with religious proclivities. Really most social and religious people and business magnets and persons holding high positions are not so happy internally as they claim or pose to be. They know how hard they try to conceal their pains and sufferings from others and even from themselves.

Most of Human beings try to see true happiness by trying to rid his his desires, temptations and cravings through imaginary fanciful thought. It is glorious attempt in vain. Man’s self-sense and ego keeps on telling him that he alone is the doer of all actions. Hence the technique that he uses to rid his state of mind  of pattern of his thought proves ineffective. Most of human being has such a great faith in his doer being that they are not prepared to pay attention to any other aspect involved in the performance of their karma actions. Really the unconscious state of state of mind  does not even get a glimpse of real happiness through desires and cravings of human being that never get satiated. He continues to crave to seek everlasting and exhilarating happiness by satiating his desires and cravings.

 Like fuel to the fire the insatiable fire of desire lands him in the cauldron of greater agony and greater distress. He becomes a prey to sorrow provoking thought. The more he tries to quench his thirst and seek happiness, the thirstier he becomes in thought. The result is that real happiness continues to elude him even during happy situations. When he is able to get some enjoyment by satiating his desires and cravings, he enhances the circumference of his desires. Not being able to gratify his desires and cravings, his distress increases. This makes the intensity of his distress thought becoming unbearable to him. 
Such human being keeps on seeking the gratification of his desires. Side by side they keep on seeking happiness. They also keep on seeking power and worldly position and honors. Their lust for life never ends. The truth is that these aspects have no bearing on human being’s quest for pleasure, joy and sorrow. These aspects are external factors. Thought pertaining to these dualistic factors are born in the unconscious state of state of mind .  It is tragic that most people do not have faith in this true thought. What to say anything else, they are not even prepared to meditate consciously on this issue. This is the chief cause of their distress.

Most people do not know that distress; thought, flights of imagination and the resultant flow of these distress-provoking thought keep on flowing on the unconscious state of state of mind  day in and day out. Therefore, this flow resembles the flow of the water of a river. It is impossible to halt and stop this flow. The more you try the more its flow tries to gather itself in and take on the shape of an ocean. When the dam of this ocean of flowing breaks, it is bound to unleash grief and agony stored in the state of mind  after its floodgates are opened. If however, instead of plugging the flow, its course and direction is changed the ensuing havoc can be avoided. Similarly, by changing the subject matter of the agony producing thought, one gets liberated from their aftermath.

This method is to be used when one’s state of mind  is in a state of turmoil and distress for one reason or another. You are to sit or stand in a careful and conscious manner. You are to keep your spinal cord and your neck absolutely straight. You are to close your eyes and start introspection. Accept the distress. Experience the distress. Feel the distress and make this distress the subject of your introspection. By consciously accepting the distress, which is also a form of energy, it start flowing away by the path, which it finds, and make one feel relieved. By undertaking this practice, it is possible that in the beginning the edge of the distress may appear sharper than the razors edge. You are not to worry. The distress will float away itself. This technique is bound to help you in making the thought of your state of mind  disappear. It will also make the habitual unconscious state of state of mind  to get rid of its agonies and sorrows. The state of mind  will gradually inculcate the habit of getting rid of these distress-provoking thought.

Most of human beings do not know that the human state of mind  thinks and concentrates on one subject at a time. All the five senses of the body that are eyes, ears, nose, mouth and skin use one sense at a time to comprehend any external material world form subject or object. As such it is impossible for two thought to flow simultaneously and it is impossible for two sense organs to act and react simultaneously. The reason is that the state of mind  moves at a lightening speed. It changes the subject matter of its thought at a similar speed. Most of human beings have the delusion of having a variety of thought in his state of mind  and a variety of thought of his senses at a time. This is false thought. The fact is that the state of mind  is engrossed in one thought at a time and is busy with one sense object at a time. The state of mind  and the body, which are the subtle parts of the human body, move in one direction only. Hence if we try to stop the flow of thought physically, the subtle state of mind  does not obey our command. If forced to do so the flow of thought continue flowing without introspection. This is because the formless part of the thought flowing through a particular sense organ does not stop.

What one is to do is only to change the course and direction of the thought. By changing its course and direction, the direction of energy contained in the thought also changes accordingly. This helps in reducing distress and pain. A human being can get rid of his agony producing thought with the help of this knowledge. He can ease his unconscious state of mind  of the painful thought by emptying it or by redirecting the flow of its thought. Again only a pleasure producing thought is to be erased and not a pain producing thought. It is impossible for the state of mind  to cast off pain producing thought.

Try this experiment. Practice to stop thought for a second before you start any work. Consciously and truthfully experience whether the work you are going to engage in will give you pain or pleasure. In case the state of mind  tells you that it will bring you pleasure or it will lessen hatred or it will create goodwill, then start the work there and then. In case you do not commence the work right away, the flow of thought passing through your state of mind , will not give you another opportunity to do so. On the contrary, if the state of mind  feels that the work in question would cause pain, would cause agony and increase hatred, you should postpone doing that work. The thought about this work will flyaway carrying with it much of the hidden pain. You will feel relieved of the burden of such a thought.

In case you postpone doing a particular task the state of mind  may not agree to act according to your wishes? The Guru says that one should consciously develop the habit of doing instantly the work, which gives happiness and pleasure. This knowledge comes within the ambit of true thought. He says that a work, which though falling in the category of true thought, is liable to give pain and preach hatred or awaken lust, should be postponed for sometime. Such a work should not be undertaken at that time. Over a long period of time and consciously having the knowledge of thought at the time of doing a particular work, not only minimizes the pain but also makes the thought pain-free. The state of mind  tends to remain happy. This is the time to nullify the painful thought of the state of mind . This is the meditation and yoga, which the Guru Patanjali preaches.

Most of the people do not believe in the true knowledge of the cosmic law that a human being can banish pain-provoking thought from his unconscious state of state of mind . It is only by bearing and accepting that the pain provoking thought can be erased. The method to rid the state of mind  of the painful thought is change of nature. It help’s to end human being’s restlessness. It is also a method to counter the ego sense that he is the doer. Both of these are a product of human being’s false thought. At the time of thinking a pain provoking thought, human being’s alertness and consciousness is neither in his state of mind  nor in his body. This alertness is focused primarily on objects or subjects or any other living being. 

At such a time, a person is far away from the interior formless Interior God essence. The pain provoking thought is a nature gift of making the state of mind  happy by directing its attention towards the Interior God essence. Without pain provoking thought, human being’s alertness and attention would break away forever from interior soul essence and Interior God essence. He will, in a state of un-alertness keep on moving far away from Interior God essence. At the time of distress, the unconscious state of state of mind , which is not used to recite the name of Interior God essence, starts remembering him, thereby eradicating painful agonies from the state of mind . To be continued to 11b
