on original yoga thesis 44 : -
In a similar fashion, the mental state which is accompanied by subtle spiritual meditation (sa-vicara) and the stage which is devoid of even of the spiritual meditation (nir-vicara) is now explained (vyakhyata). In the previous webpage, it is explained how the master of yoga have direct experience of the verbal spiritual meditation of conceived idea and the analytical spiritual meditation of the mind .In a similar way, direct experience of the seed of spiritual meditation and the direct experience of spiritual meditation beyond the spiritual meditation, which are subtle object of experience are experienced by the master of spiritual meditation. The only difference is that the memory of past experience of object fail to grasp anything. It is direct experience of the master of yoga, where nothing comes in the spiritual meditation. The feeling of devoid of memory of past experience and object of experiment disappear from the the spiritual meditation of the master of the spiritual meditation. Where vitarka describes the spiritual meditation processes that become attached to gross physical object, the world of form , vicara is different as it connotes the subtle object of spiritual meditation itself. Here the thinking process is an object, the consciousness process is an object of the master of the spiritual meditation.. The energy processes are object of consciousness. This is akin to the spiritual meditation practice of focusing of the inner and subtle processes, except that here, the savicara processes are not consciously brought into being rather they are on automatic. By becoming aware of these the master of the spiritual meditation can notice how they arise and eliminate them (nirodha). So here Patanjali now describes the spiritual meditation processes that become attached to the more subtle object of spiritual meditation and boundaries such as concepts, , the connectional process itself. Not that he says that the master of the spiritual meditation should focus on these, but rather that the master of the spiritual meditation should go beyond such fixation by letting them go. Nirvicara is akin to the cessation of even the arising of the first word in a spiritual meditation process -- to even the urge to think itself. This creates the stillness where the energy is no longer distracted and dissipated into any objectification process -- it is the stillness that invites the innate light. Here Patanjali is simply delineating the graduated stages of spiritual meditation from spiritual meditation of true reality of its individual or self and analytical spiritual meditation fixations, to more subtle, to the most subtle, and eventually free from any objective fixation whatsoever -- Infinite Mind. These higher samapattis (nirvitarka and nirvicara) are stages leading to true samadhi to the master of the spiritual meditation. The spiritual meditation of subtle aspects is similarly
explained as deliberation on
analytical spiritual meditation
and object of experiment. There
is no difference between spiritual meditation with and without analysis of matter
object to
spiritual meditation with and without analysis of subtle
object except
the difference in the intensity of concentration on the matter or subtle object.
A
spiritual meditation without logic thought and a
spiritual meditation without thought
have been described in website page 42 to 43, similarly, without logic thought
meditation and without complete thought process
meditation is
mentioned herewith. The difference is that in spiritual meditation only subtle and
formless subjects are considered The explanation in respect of argumentative and
non-argumentative is the same as it is in respect of subtle
without logic or subtle without spiritual meditation process . The only difference is that in the
argumentative
spiritual meditation, the spiritual knowledge regarding an issue is
obtained by argumentation through the senses i.e. by seeing with the eyes, by
hearing with the ears, by smelling with the nose, by tasting with the mouth and
by touching with the body. Such a spiritual knowledge is also based on external
information i.e. information gleaned from the spiritual knowledge of others. The
external spiritual knowledge, whether it is obtained from any religion or from
any holy scripture or from any saint or seer, comprises argumentative and
external spiritual knowledge. The spiritual knowledge, which is contained in the
subtle meditative , is very subtle. It is based on internal spiritual
knowledge. Meditative takes place when after shutting down and
closing down all senses, all external spiritual knowledge is thrown aside and
the mind made spiritual meditation free and intellect free, to comprehend and experience
internal spiritual knowledge. Argumentation is experienced with the help of
words and language. spiritual meditation does not use the prop of words or language.
Meditative spiritual knowledge is experienced through cosmic language. It cannot
be seen or described in words. It can only be experienced. Argumentative consciousness is in the
unconscious mind that is outer part of the mind. Meditative consciousness is in
the conscience. It lies in the depth of the conscience. Dreams
emerge out of the meditative consciousness. The memory of the fruit of
action arises out of the memory of conscience. Spiritual meditation is
about spiritual object. It is experienced by shutting out all the senses and felt
through the experience of spiritual internal waves. It expresses and manifests the
natural bent of mind and inclination of the seeker. Whatever the five
intellectual thinks of senses viz. eyes, ears, tongue, nose and body, such a
thought is given credibility and is believed. Whatever is thought is regarding
the spiritual formless subject by five spiritual senses viz. smell, taste, touch,
sound and color; called feeling such a feeling is experienced alone. It is only
felt but it does not come within the grasp of words or their meaning. Transformation of the conscience by
spiritual meditation on spiritual object such as self-ego or self-sense or the
spiritual
elements or the characteristic or qualities of core nature essence is
meditative spiritual . In spiritual meditation, the master of the spiritual meditation experiences
a state that is without any verbal deliberation or thought. the master of the
spiritual meditation becomes free from
past experiences and devoid of all past impressions. This meditative state
is without cause and effect, place and time. The meditative state of spiritual is a state of pure bliss and pure self-sense.
