| Insight vision
on original yoga thesis 9: - verbal thought of conceived idea means hearing a sound of words, which does not have a corresponding reality. Knowledge about words, which do not have corresponding reality and are figments of imagination, constitute verbal thought of conceived idea . Thinking about an object or a subject with the active assistance of knowledge of words and forms and with the help of a language leads to verbal thought of conceived idea . Thinking about an object or a subject with words as per our imagination of forms and without regard to the solid basis of its thought constitute verbal thought of conceived idea of words. Imaginary thing or form conveyed with the help of fraction of words or a language also leads to verbal thought of conceived idea . When an object or a subject is not consciously and carefully heard, seen or read but conveyed through the imaginative pattern of words, the resultant knowledge is called verbal thought of conceived idea . Knowledge about future is based on verbal thought of conceived idea . When verbal thought of conceived idea arises in a state of unconscious and un-alertness it is called false thought of the wisdom of education with words. When verbal thought of conceived idea arises in a state of experience or concentration and alertness, it is called true thought with words. Such thought lessens grief, sorrows and distress. It is on account of his verbal thought
of conceived idea
with words that a human
being is considered the highest and lowest being of this creation of
universe. Misuse or improper use of verbal thought of conceived idea
can destroy the human race. It can also lead to the destruction of the
entire creation of universe. The right use of verbal thought of conceived
idea
with words can lead to the
advancement and development of the material world, worldly forces and
worldly sciences and his conscious state of mind gain realization of his
state of body, mind and soul. It is with the help of verbal thought of
conceived idea
with words that the formless
God essence or any of his attributes and characteristics or any of his
mysteries, which are normally beyond normal human being comprehension, can
be understood, comprehended and realized. How is human being the highest and the
lowest creature and related to verbal thought of conceived idea ? As compared to other living
beings, human being possesses the highest degree of state of consciousness.
He possesses all there characteristics because of his verbal thought of
conceived idea
with words. The degree of
state of consciousness, concentration that is found in human being, is not
found in other living beings. The other living beings do possesses these
characteristics but not to the extent as a human being does. Because of
the enhanced degree of these characteristics in him, human being has
become the master of subtle and matter and forms thereof and other living
beings in universe. With such a power in his possession, he has the
ability to enter the realm of inner soul essence and inner God essence.
The human being has the ability to achieve state of consciousness and God
realization. Most of the living beings
throughout their life span remain steeped in a state of un-consciousness.
The result is that they are not even aware and conscious of the difference
between their sleeping and wakeful states. They cannot discriminate and
differentiate between these two conditions. By virtue of his
characteristics and intelligence, human being has become well versed in
the art of comprehension, contemplation and meditation. The human being is able to put
together the scattered events of his past life. The human being is also able to
foretell the events, which are going to happen in future. The human being evinces keen
interest in brooding over the past and foretelling the future happening
and tidings. There is thus a strong possibility that human being may attain
complete comprehensive and true knowledge of the ultimate reality. Unfortunately, human being in his
unconscious state of mind and because of his verbal thought of conceived idea has started deluding
himself that human being is the doer. The human being has created this delusion in himself
because of his sense of ego. Along with this
human being wants to keep on living in
the past or making plans for the future. The
human being is unlike other living beings;
human being does not want to live in the present. The
human being only wants to dwell
either in the past or in the future. This is the cause of his sorrow. Except human being, all other living
beings live in harmonious relationship with nature’s basic and subtle
attributes. They live in harmony and at peace with themselves and with the
world around them. They live in a state of peace, calmness, bliss and
serenity. It is only human being who does not live in harmony with the
nature’s basic and subtle attributes. As such
human being
is not at peace within
himself or the matter world around him. Consequently
human being lives in a state
of restlessness and tension while other living beings repose in an
agony-free state and a state of bliss. It is human being only who keeps on
getting involved and engrossed in the dead yesterdays and the unborn
tomorrows of his life. The result is that
human being neither has peace nor enjoys
calmness, bliss, serenity, tranquility and quietness during his lifetime.
Not living in harmony with nature’s subtle attributes makes human being
restless and unable to live in a state of calmness, bliss, serenity and
tranquility. It is because of these aspects that human being despite being
the highest creation, is unable to enjoy undying and endless store of
bliss, joy and happiness, calmness, serenity and tranquility. A human
being can, however, reduce his distress by becoming thought free and by
living in the present. The formless inner God essence dwells
within every living being. The inner soul essence of the living being is
wrapped around the formless God essence. A living being’s account of
seed karma and its operative karma is written around the inner layer
of the core conscious state of mind. The inner part containing the
conscious state of mind of nature is static. It is motion-less and immortal. A complete
spiritual knowledge of a living being, his inner nature essence, his soul
essence and knowledge about inner God essence lies hidden in this part of
the core formless nature essence. It is this spiritual knowledge that
realizes that one’s static soul is wrapped around inner God essence.
One’s body comprising of nature’s subtle and matter elements, keeps on
moving and changing its forms. The inner core nature essence keeps on
giving birth to new bodies and keeps on producing subtle forms of living
and non-living beings. It is creating and giving birth to new bodies
according to its past karma seed actions and lingering impressions of
previous lives. The process involves the creating of pores of a new body,
which feed on the pores of the other body. Great Sage Ashtwakar says that if a
human being consciously and in a state of state of consciousness realize that his
mind carrying his past lives impressions is a separate from his soul and
converts this thought into true thought, then such a thought leads to
inner pure nature essence that is conscious state of mind of living being of
universe. The resultant knowledge in this thought keeps on automatically
repeating in his core deep conscious state of mind. In this way he makes
arrangements for the automatic realization of operating cosmic laws in
inner nature essence. At such a time, human being’s consciousness enters
the realm of state of consciousness and inner God’s realization and inner
Nature realization and he gains entry into transcendental super-conscious
state with the help of the cosmic law. But Great Sage Patanjali tells the
disciple that, in this way, it is not possible for most people to enter
the state of super-consciousness that is seedless Samadhi. He says that
those who are able to enter into such a state will find it impossible to
bear the magnitude of the supreme knowledge, which they are bound to
receive during the state of their super-consciousness. The supreme spiritual knowledge that is
about the formless God essence should be gained by the disciple’s static
mind gradually, slowly, patiently and by long practice. At the time of
realizing the spiritual knowledge, the static mind should be prepared
blissfully, carefully, firmly and courageously. The path on which the
knowledge has to traverse to the mind has to be concretized. It is easy
for the disciple to enter the portals of the formless deeper mind through
the gateway of the super-conscious state. There is, however a lurking
danger that during the disciple’s return journey from out of the
super-conscious state, he may descend somewhere else, if he does not take
adequate precautions and if he does not have adequate practice. Entering into the formless deeper mind
through the super-conscious state, a disciple may not get full
comprehension of the spiritual knowledge that he experiences and realizes.
For this, he is to properly prepare his mind and make his state of
consciousness,
attentiveness and concentration sharp. He is to have one pointed ness of
mind to which the subtle creation of nature’s world will be ready to
surrender itself and do its bidding. The mind has to be made fully
conscious before it enters the world of the formless inner nature essence.
After gaining entry there, if a human being’s concentration is fixed on
God he will get God realization. If his concentration is fixed on
attaining some particular power, he will get that power. If his one pointed concentration
is on attaining some noble attribute, he will get that attribute. If his
concentration is fixed on getting some ignoble attribute, he will get that
ignoble attribute. If he wants to feel the stopping of his heartbeat, he
can do so. The preceptor says that so long his interest in inner God
essence and his attributes and his characteristics does not get reinforced
and so long his interest in the forbidden worldly forces and powers do not
get completely eradicated, entry into the super-conscious state of mind by
the disciple is totally forbidden. A human being may become a God or a
beast through Samadhi – the transcendental super conscious state. The
possibility of human being becoming a beast is, however, much more. This
is because modern human being is more inclined to become a beast. It is
for this reason that the practice of meditation and yoga is being
miss-used, more than being properly used. How can a human being’s inner nature
and inclination in mind be molded? The Great Sage has divided meditation
and yoga into eight graded website page s. After obtaining expertise in the first
part, he tells the disciple to learn the second part and there after shows
him the eight parts of the perfect path. The Great Sage says that the
portals of perfect path are to be systematically learnt one after the
other and the return journey is also to be undertaken systematically and
in a similar way. After obtaining spiritual knowledge of the eight-fold
path, the disciple is to start treading on it. He is to enter the
conscious state of mind while remaining in a state of super-consciousness. He is to
enter the inner world of the formless static nature essence that is beyond
the rules of the matter of universe. Really the matter world is product of
inner nature essence and the matter ends in it. This is the abode of the
endless dead being and subtle and matter elements of universe and there is
no action there. There is only vision there. There is only bliss, serenity
and tranquility there. The world of the formless static nature essence is
eternal, static and steady forever and gives a vision of abode of the dead
being. Insight vision of such a vision is to be obtained through God’s
infinite mercy in one’s lifetime. Only one or two out of a million of
people have the good fortune to have a true vision of these visions and
that too in a single lifetime. The eight graded website page s of meditation
and yoga are YAMA (Restraint); NIYAMA (CULTURE); ASAN (POSTURE); PRANAYAM
(CONTROL OF PSYCHIC BREATH); PRATYAHARA (WITHDRAWAL OF SENSES); DHARNA
(Concentration); DHYANA (Meditation) and SAMADHI (Perfect consciousness
resulting in super-conscious experience that is Yoga music). The
first two ethical disciplines viz. YAMA and NIYAMA describe the methods by
which a person’s actions and inclinations can be molded through
restraint and cultivation of cleanliness, contentment and austerity of
body, speech and mind. In the first website page , emphasis is laid on inculcation
of moral discipline and abstention of thought from mind from causing any
hurt or injury to others. Emphasis is also laid on
practicing non-violence and make mind agree consciously leading a life of
truthfulness in thought, words and deed. In the second website page the mind is to
be purified and cleansed by inculcating clean habits and controlling
avarice and greed, performing acts of charity, undertaking penance,
showing mercy and forgiveness and loving one and all. Love for
state of consciousness and love for inner God essence is to be cultivated. The
preceptor gives details about these aspects in Book Sadhana Meditation and
yoga. verbal thought of conceived idea with
words is also a force to be
reckoned with its active help and through conscious and sustained efforts
and by following the method and practice of meditation and yoga. It is
possible to enter the domain of God realization. It is essential that for
gaining entry into the state of super-consciousness and for entering the
conscious state of mind and for gaining entry into the formless inner God essence,
a disciple must first of all mould and reform his inner nature, his
natural inclinations, his mental tendencies and his mind. It is only then
that supreme knowledge will be bestowed on him. Without adequate
preparation, the disciple is likely to gain barbaric and beastly
knowledge.
