Insight vision of Step 30: -

When union  of insight vision , meditation and spiritual union with feeling  in  control mind   discipline is coming together on the pit of the throat called visuddhi wheel, there follows the cessation of hunger and thirst. The practice of focusing the threefold interior discipline on the pit of the throat or the psychic wheel known as VISHUDI CHAKRA brings cessation from hunger and thirst. When feeling  in  control mind   is fixed on the nerve below the throat wheel, cessation from hunger and thirst ensues. It is when union  of insight vision , meditation and spiritual union with feeling  in  control mind   discipline is coming together on the pit of the throat, which is the food pipe in the throat, that cessation from hunger and thirst gets followed.

The Great Guru Patanjali says that a perfect disciple by union  of spiritual union the threefold discipline on the food pipe, which is in the lower part of the throat, can attain spiritual knowledge about the domain of thirst and hunger. With the attainment of this knowledge the perfect disciple can whenever he wants, break his connection from thirst and hunger. It is in this way that without eating anything, a perfect disciple can get release from thirst and hunger for a long time without feeling any adverse effects. The throat is the indicator of the galaxy of stars in universe, which is also called VISHUDI wheel .

The Great Sage says that the throat contains  natural  essence taste, which has a direct connection with the  natural  natural essence of  control mind  . The  natural  taste manifests in the  control mind   to meet the needs of the gross body to outer matter universe as per karma subliminal impressions from time to time as per its natural bent of mind and disposition. Accordingly, an embodied unconscious becomes helpless in its search for food. Hence, an embodied mind remains restless till such time his internal need in respect of food and water of outer matter universe does not get satiated.

A life form’s tongue keeps itself informed about the external shape and form of the  natural  taste of outer food and water of universe in his throat. The tongue knows the taste of the external form or shape of food and water of universe. For this reason it harbors cravings for the enjoyment of tastes of different subjects and objects of food and water of universe. The perfect disciple by bringing together his union  of insight vision , meditation and spiritual union with feeling  in  control mind   discipline in the throat’s pipe attains spiritual knowledge to make the interior taste of food and water tasteless.

When the taste of tongue expresses desires for thirst and hunger, entering into tastelessness liberates the taste of tongue through this spiritual knowledge by entering into tastelessness from both hunger and thirst. When tastelessness appears in the  control mind   of the perfect disciple, his  control mind   forbids him from taking water or food. When this happens the perfect disciple’s hunger and thirst reach the stage of death, as he no longer feels the necessity of either quenching his thirst or saturating his hunger. It is thus that the perfect disciple cultivates, disciplines and perfects the power of controlling both hunger and thirst. It is thus that without eating and drinking, he can live for a long time.
